Buddy dive looks good, don't know much about Don's yet. Thoughts. Somewhere else we should try. It will be for Aug 2017 trip.

They are both fine but tank access is much easier at Buddy. We have been to buddy about 8 times and dons once. The shore dive at dons is hard to beat.

Can you elaborate on tank access?

Buddy has a two lane drive through tank pickup with free EAN that makes it real easy. It can get busy but never too bad and you will learn to avoid the busy periods. Dons had a small stack of air tanks for pickup outside their shop and a rusty hand cart so you could carry them to their parking lot. If you are lucky, you might even get a close parking space.

We much prefered the breakfast at buddy

Buddy--If you want to truck dive, stay at Buddy for the drivethru tank pickup. Don's--If you are more interested in shore diving out front and doing boat dives stay at Don's. I don't care for either place's breakfast and would rather cook or have cereal for breakfast in the room. Stayed other places but have been going to Don's most of the time the last 20 years. The only way I can get the Buddy price lower than Don's is by putting 6 divers in a 3br apt.

We are doing Don's again next July for $770./diver in a 2 br/2ba bungalow, 12 single tank boats, all taxes, nitrox on the boat dives, unlimited shore diving, etc....

I can't speak about Don's, but my wife and I had a great experience at Buddy's. And we were able to make it to the "wreck" at Don's on our shore dives from Buddy's.

Another tip if you decide to stay at Buddy's which we like the best of all the resorts we have stayed at. Right by the drive thru there is an area to rinse and hang gear. That is the place we always hang our equipment. Most folks will take their gear down to the dock area and hang their stuff in the larger gear rooms and if you plan to do a lot of shore diving from the resort, then that's probably the best place to store it. But other than the initial check-out dive and maybe a night dive, we typically don't dive at the resort. We do all our shore diving at other locations. It's just really convenient to have your gear right where you park the vehicles and by the tanks.

This is a coin toss as both places are pretty much equivalent. I would let price be the determinant.
