Have a look at the Dive Rite transplate harness. Might be what you’re looking for.

IMO, this is a great deal.

* Not expensive
* Padded
* Adjustable
* Good hardware
* Warranty/Support
* Good how-to video
* Minimal DIY headaches

Well ....I like the idea of the quick release and having a big range of adjustment which makes it easy for me to get in and out of. I am opened mined but the one piece has that torture look to me...:eek:
I know, it looks terrible. But the 1-piece actually provides a super simple adjustment. The waist band can slide through the plate and allows you to adjust the fit quick and easy. I can dive my 1-piece harness wearing a rash guard or 7mm wetsuit. Easy peasy.

Can anyone on Scuba board make me a custom harness for a back plate? I do not want a 1 piece ...can anyone make one with d rings and quick releases? Something similar to a Hog harness or OMS comfort iii harness??
Problem solved. I love mine, clean, simple and no plastic. Adjustable Harness System - Subgravity

Harness kits are so over price. Let me say that again. Harness kits are so over price. I have built four one-piece harnesses. Getting the hardware and webbing is not a problem.

Though I have not done it making an adjustable harness from a one piece harness would be easy. Just get two quick release buckles. Thread as normal. Figure out where you want the shoulder quick release. Cut webbing long enough to feed through the female part of the quick release then double back and feed through the shoulder try-glide. Repeat on the other side. Feed the lower cut end through the male part of the quick release and thread as normal.

Now my only concern is how well the webbing which is thicker and stiffer than normal, will feed through the quick release. I just tried it with a spare buckle some webbing I have. It works but not something one will do on the fly - even with wet webbing. That is one will need to adjust with buckle apart.

In summary, harness kits are so over price, make your own.

Harness kits are so over priceD. Let me say that again. Harness kits are so over priceD.

This insistence on DIY and one piece harnesses is tiresome.

If the guy wants to spend his hard-earned money on a harness kit, that’s his business. If he doesn’t want a one piece harness, that’s his business, too. Quick releases and more D rings than some think are kosher aren’t the end of the diving world, regardless of how they offend the sensibilities of some

Hog but I am moving away from Hog gear into something else...I hope a custom harness that I make for myself with a custom back plate that I am having made with my Youtube name in it...

Honestly I dont like the looks of a 1 piece.....I like two d rings on each shoulder and more attachment points...I am running a metal detector ,lights , and pin pointer , plus a wreck bag to put the goodies in...I know exactly what I want in a harness just need to know how to make it... I bought a OMS comfort III and sent it back because it was to tight.. One guy said I could have added some webbing but for 800 bucks for a wing and plate I opted out of that.
