    Britannia Beach - wreck three

Hi Dale, not sure if I am understanding you right, but what we are saying is the structure that was originally thought to be the Joan is in fact the retaining wall. I’m not sure where the confusion regarding the Joan came from but credit to Russ from SECS who has been saying it all along...

    Britannia Beach - wreck three

SECS can now reveal the identity of the 'Mystery 2' wreck at Britannia Beach as the fishing vessel Cape Swain. We can also reveal the large wooden structure at the Britannia North site is not a ship, or a dock, or a barge, but is in fact a large wooden retaining wall. For more...

Technical wreck diving in the Keys

Thanks Wookie. Just to let you know thjis is going to be a group trip, probably between 6 -12 people. We are looking at May of 2014 so as of now just trying to get some basic logistics worked out. Pretty well everybody will be on OC. Dive to 300+ are not out of the question but unlikely. Depths...

    D7000.......finally

Well it took many months of research, going to camera shops and trying to choose between the 7d, 60d and d7000. I am now proud to say I am the proud new owner of a d7000. Now comes the fun part, learning to use it. Although I stilll need to buy a housing and strobes you should see me hanging...

    Pony Bottle Location Question

Sling your pony bottle. This will give you better acsess to the valve and regulator. It also gives you options such as staging it outside a wreck or giving it to a buddy in the case he/she is in a out of air situation.

    Better OC Trimix Computer . . .

I find the x1 is easier to read at a glance. Probably the reason the Shearwater added colors to their screen. I have never used the Shearwater but I know that the X1 has a one beer learning curve. That is you sit donw with a beer and start tapping away, by the time your finished you can work...

    7D or 5D Mark2

Ok, so I have finaly saved enough money to by my self a new camera. I have been doing a bunch of research and I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. Should go all out and go for the 5D, I like the idea of the full sensor. Or go with the 7D and put the extra money into lenses. The majority of the use...

    What Regulators do you use.

Backgas and sidemount Scubpro Mk25 + s600's Deco Bottles, Dive Rite 2500 series. Probably go to DR on my backgas as well

    Can someone explain Ratio Decompression?

Ratio deco makes little sense to me. If you are an easy bend do what you already doing or set your conservatism setting higher like +4 or 5 on V-planner. I have never bought in to the idea of ratio deco as a contingecy plan similar to what TS&M mentioned earlier, I see it more as a marketing...

Single bottle dives and choice of deco gas

For the majority of the dives I do in that range, keeping in mind that in 5 degree water we are only doing bottom times of 30-45 mins, and diving on air, both 50 and 100 are going to be pretty close on the times, maybe around 5 mins or so either way. so for me it doesnt matter. Whatever gas I...
