I've found some shells. Like my profile says, I haven't done much diving so far.

What do you do with the cut off spines? Dump them overboard? Would sinking spines be a danger to surfacing divers? I only ask because I have no idea what to do with something dangerous like this.

How do you get them off your spear and fillet them without getting poked by their spikes? Do you use a sword to fillet them? :D

Warm salt water dives are much more fun than cold (70 degree) freshwater spring diving simply because you don't have to have a wet suit.

Someone I know who has been diving for years told me not to buy used equipment that is meant to keep you alive. However, she will buy other equipment used. In fact, she gave me a used 5 mil wetsuit she bought on ebay. It fits perfectly and I have never had a problem with it.

It seems most of you prefer the wrist mount rather than console. However, some of the console ones measure your air consumption rate don't they? It seems like this would be great information to have. Especially if it tells you how much you were breathing at certain depths. It seems like that...

With it on the inside I was just kinda worried about being panicky and yanking it out and accidentally cutting something important...like my knee.

Just curious, why should it go on the inside rather than the outside? Still a new diver and my BC doesn't have knife gromets or it would be on my vest. I asked someone at a dive I was doing and they said it didn't matter.
