Any Air Integrated Wrist Computer Connectivity Issues?

Wow that is a great point. I can see the possibility of dive boat crew possibly grabbing the top of tank and breaking the transmitter as they swap out the tank.

Any Air Integrated Wrist Computer Connectivity Issues?

Just curious why you don't have the transmitter plugged directly into your 1st stage? Why do you have it on a hose?

Any Air Integrated Wrist Computer Connectivity Issues?

Hi all, I am upgrading my dive gear and was looking into purchasing a wrist dive computer with wireless air integration via transmitter. I am looking at the Suunto D5, Shearwater Teric, Garmin Descent MK2i, Mares Genius to name a few (there are more). . I previously owned a Mares Puck Air...

Article: Self Reliance and Tech Diving

Very well said Dr. Lecter! Thank You! Having recently read the book "Shadow Divers" about Mr. Chatterton's experiences diving and identifying a lost German submarine, I completely understand Mr. Chatterton's view regarding how a buddy can become a liability at great depth, and on very risky...

Is it ok to do 2 deeper dives following a shallow dive?

Well, i'm not getting the same pressure groups as you. I"m getting the following: 1st dive -35' for 60 min makes it group L SI is 2 hours - makes it group B 2nd dive - 60' for 40min (44min is NDL), makes it group U Minimum surface interval should be 57 minutes - not 45min. Brings you to group J...

Advice for traveling without dive buddy

EXACTLY!!! I am not going on vacation with a "tether" along with me to connect to my insta-buddy. Completely absurd. I am not an Instructor or DM. I go diving for the joy of the dive - NOT to hold an incompetent certified divers hand. I have no problem helping a fellow diver and buddy out with...

Advice for traveling without dive buddy

Come down off your soap-box. Many of your answers to my question were irrelevant and inaccurate because you actually didn't answer my question. So i guess the next time you get buddied up with an incompetent diver, make sure you blame yourself for their incompetence- not them. It is obviously...

Boynton Beach / West Palm Beach / Delray Area trip 09/22 & 23rd

Hi all, I will be diving with Underwater Explorers in Boynton Beach Florida on Saturday September 22nd at 1:00PM and Sunday September 23rd at 1:00PM. 2 tank dive. There are 5 spots left on the boat for each of those date/time slots. You can sign up here if you'd like to join me. Maybe we can...

Advice for traveling without dive buddy

Yeah, good point. Maybe it's worth spending the extra cash on a private DM after all. There have been times when i want to explore a spot more thoroughly but the dive guide seems to be in a race to cover as much ground as possible - LOL. I will look into it on my next dive trip. ---------- Post...

Advice for traveling without dive buddy

Just bumped into a similar thread on this forum under the "Advanced Scuba Discussion" section. Lots of other divers with similar experiences to mine. Link here: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/advanced-scuba-discussions/344879-diving-without-buddy.html

Advice for traveling without dive buddy

Ysuboy, I totally get what you are saying - and so that I am not misunderstood - Let me just repeat that I have no problem diving with a buddy that is less experienced, or even fresh out of their OW cert. I am happy to help a fellow diver. I have very often assisted others on the boat with...
