I have a plate. What else do I need?

Thanks for the replies to all. I may just try the simple harness first. If I want to put a shoulder release on, where would that be located? The DSS thing looks nice, but isn't compatible with my Dive Rite plate. Any other thoughts on wings? Thanks again.

I have a plate. What else do I need?

I was diving a standard BCD that finally bit the dust. I am now going to try a BP/W setup. A friend gave me a Dive Rite stainless steel BP, and I need to configure the rest of my setup. I want a rig for single tank diving. I have used many size tanks from steel 72s to Al 80s to SS 130s, but...

Wish I could find a mask that fits

I appreciate all the replies. Just for clarification of a couple of points- -I tried the mask with a regulator in my mouth before purchase. -I tried both sizes of Atomic Frameless and bought the medium -I don't keep the mask very tight -I may smile and make facial expressions while diving, not...

Wish I could find a mask that fits

I have been through about 10 masks, all of which have fit in the store, and all of which have leaked badly while diving. While diving, I try really hard not to wiggle my facial muscles and break any seal that exists. I shave, and have no facial hair. I do the sniff test with a regulator in my...

    St. Thomas USVI dive operators?

Greetings to all- I have been away from diving for the past 2 years, and haven't posted here in a long time. I am traveling to St. Thomas in a couple of months and would like to dive there. I'll be there for several days, and can choose a dive operator pretty much anyplace, and will have time...

    Which is more buoyant?

Question- Which is more buoyant, a 7mm farmer jon (14mm on the core), or a drysuit of similar size, when using "average" undergarments? Thanks.

    Best Cheap Openheel Fin?

Agree. These are what I use. Good, basic, no nonsense fins. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are a bit too buoyant.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies. The shortest tank that I use is a steel 130 which I believe is 25.5 inches. I'll try the oxycheq site directly. Thanks again to all.

oxycheq machV size of 30 vs. 40

Thanks for the reply. Are you sure about the length, or speculating? It's hard to tell from the website and oxycheq hasn't answered my question to them on the manufacturer's section of the forum.

    Dive Question

BC failures can happen. I had a rental BC fail on me in Coz, even though it tested OK before diving. I was able to swim my rig up, and my buddy's (my son) BC held us both up with no problem after I dropped my weights at the surface. The operator didn't ask about the missing weight belt, but I...
