Greetings,

First-time post long-time lurker....

I'm going on a cruise to Belize and Cozumel next month and am going to do some diving as my "shore excursions". Of the 5 people I'm going with I'm the only one who owns my own regulator/BC.... everyone else is just bringing their mask and fins. I don't want to slow-down the group by dragging my BC along, but the regulator wouldn't add much weight/bulk so I might bring it along.

Questions:

1. If I were to take-along my circa ~2001 AquaLung/Seaquest regulator, would it's power inflator hose plug into the power inflator on another brand's BC (like say ScubaPro or Mares or some other brand?)?

2. Back when I bought my equipment in 2001 there was a huge difference in performance between cheap rental gear and high-end regulators (specifically, work of breathing and it's ability to deliver a lot of air). Will a high-end regulator from 2001 (an AquaLung Cousteu first stage with Micra Adjustable 2nd stage) offer significantly better performance compared to today's rental regulators? (again, I'm going on a cruise shore excursion in Belize and Cozumel).

Thank You,
M
