Not happy with my i330c... The compass is skewed "TERRIBLY" by the computer.
I sent an email to aqualung with no response for over a month.

With the 330c in the housing the compass doesn't point north. If you pop the computer out of the housing the compass works fine. I believe the compass is attracted to the battery in the computer.

Thoughts on a fix? Is there a replacement compass that is sheilded from the presence of the computer.

This is a rather "common" occurrence with a lot of compass/computer combo consoles. Aqualung is not alone here.

ScubaPro had this to say back in the day:

In a few instances the batteries in the Electronic Console have caused a
magnetic interference with the Low Profile Compass (PIN 28-033-008)
when it is mounted on the Electronic Console. The condition may result in
the Compass pointing in a direction other than magnetic north.

There does not seem to be any particular battery brand that is worse than
others. But there is considerable variation in the magnetic field generated
from battery to battery within the same brand. The cause is battery
manufacturing variations and possible battery energy field leakage.

If there appears to be a problem with the Compass, remove the batteries,
place the Console in a set position, load the batteries into the Console one at
a time and observe the effect on the Compass. If there still is an
interference, it may be lessened by changing the order of the batteries or
replacing the batteries.

Long story short, it may be worth your while to check out a different battery first.

Built in / non-servicable rechargeable battery.
aka - poor quality /design.

As battery technology has improved with increased energy density, console design clearly has not. If it makes you feel better, my wrist compass has to be worn in the opposite wrist than my wrist computer because of interference from the electronics. I also have to move the compass to the back of my hand if my Apple Watch is on the wrist on the same side.
