My new Selene Wing BCD's weight pockets won't release, what am I doing wrong?

Found this video. Seems you need to twist the handle up or down. Ok if you know how to use but if a buddy has to help you need to make sure they know what to do. Someone not familiar with it may not be able to help you in time should it be necessary.
Sorry but that's a stupid thing to have to do. Almost as bad as the one that makes you undo a quick release before you can pull the handle and get the pocket free. I'll stick with my weight belt.

from 2:18 to 3:05 or so is the weight release and replace.
