Thank you, I appreciate it. I love the one of the mandarin dragonet the most. If you have any tips, especially for the more open water ones taken in the quarry, I'd love to hear them.
 
The older RX100 Mk II was still available last time I checked, for about half the cost of the newest version of the RX100. Here, you could get a RX100 Mk II and a Meikon housing for it for about USD$750, total.

I agree, this is what I am buying. I just got at rx100 MII for 360$ on ebay, and now I am getting a meikon housing for 150$. Much cheaper than your budget but my guess is that this is a great set up. Go for it.
 
I know the guy who takes good pics with Canon s100 when snorkeling. You can buy new for $399 and the housing for $140 at Amazon, maybe cheaper elsewhere.
