It never occurred to me that the Petrel/Perdix doesn't have a wet sensor as some other computers do.

It uses barometric pressure instead, and turns on automatically when the pressure reaches greater than a reasonable atmospheric pressure (1100mbar, I think).

I want to thank everyone for there response. Bought the Perdix and have been diving it for about 3 months and let me tell you I'm not disappointed at all.
