Year and a half old thread but anyway, they don't wear out but the tubing gets really bad in most of them. The good news is it's cheap and easy to replace....I have done a bunch of them.
I have a ScubaPro gauge that I have used since the 70's, and the tube is in need of replacement. I would like to replace it, but don't want to damage it in the process. Is it as simple as just:
  1. prying the old tubing out of the frame
  2. pulling out the stopper from the tube
  3. buying new tubing (from medical supply, how tough to match?)
  4. inserting the stopper in the new tube
  5. inserting the new tube into the frame
