Saying that, Somali pirates operates near the Somali coast south of Aden, and that's +1.500 km away and even not in the Red Sea.

What I wrote in Undercurrent's mid-month email :

Is it Safe to Travel to the Red Sea Nowadays? October 25, 2023

To a North American looking at a map, the Red Sea seems very close to Israel, but in fact, the Red Sea coast of Egypt is a long way from the conflict. From Gaza, it's 250 miles to Hurghada and 445 miles to Marsa Alam, which are hosting European visitors and carrying on as usual. The Middle East may be a troubled area, but the trouble-free Saudi Arabia is on the opposite coast of Egypt, and those two nations are not at war. If you have a trip to the Red Sea planned, enjoy it and experience some of the most remarkable diving in the world.

J. Bantin is perfectly right.

In order to help conserve the marine environment in the Red Sea, and and to reduce the number of divers, which will be of interest to us, regular enthusiasts of this region, read this:

The French armed forces said in a statement that the "Languedoc" multi-mission frigate, which operates in the Red Sea, had shot down two drones heading towards it.

The interception and destruction of these two clear-cut threats took place yesterday, saturday night, 110 kilometers off the Yemeni coast, near Hodeida, a port in northern Yemen under the control of the Houthi rebels.

Last week, a US destroyer shot down three drones while assisting commercial vessels in the Red Sea targeted by attacks from Yemen, according to Washington, which denounced "a direct threat" to maritime security.

It's thus very dangerous to go diving in the Red Sea ! Don't go !

I hope there will be less liveaboards next time we'll go to Zabargad, so that we can enjoy more...
:funny:
