Great report-thanks. One question to ask? How are the sand fleas on Utila. Stayed in Roatan a couple of years ago and thought I was going to be one giant hive before I left. Used everything all day long-but I guess they liked me. I really enjoyed Roatan and would like return, but I don't know if I could handle that again. Heard that Utila is not as bad-is this true?

Try this it works http://www.cactusjuicetm.com/ I think the sand fleas are everywhere. If you are a sand flea magnet they are going to get you.

Sand fleas are a little less of a problem at Utila Lodge because the resort is on a dock and there is not much "beach" nearby. We did not use any Jungle Juice while there, but they did say it was "unusally good" period. Anywhere we go we take Jungle Juice by REI, 99% deet.

Thanks for the information on Utlia Lodge. We are considering a trip there in early May. Sounds like it may be the right choice for us--4 experienced divers (300-500 dives). Two of us are from Seattle.
