It's good that you have a keen eye for your gears condition, but the photo really doesn't convey it's staus. As Scvott said, most of these hoses will last severall years before needing replacement. Gettiing it checked is a no cost ease of mind. Most hoses actually get cut during removal and reinstallation. There is no real stress on the outer hose as the pull dump works off the cable inside, before the outer hose gets stretched.
