Looks like they are evacuating the Keys ahead of Wilma's arrival.

Officials ordered non-residents in the Florida Keys to evacuate Wednesday in advance of Hurricane Wilma, a dangerous Category 5 storm that's days away from its projected landfall near the island chain.

This looks like another big, bad one. Everyone in lower FL, please do what you need to to stay safe, and if anyone is looking for a place to evacuate to, my door near Pensacola is always open.

By all means be safe. I have a rescue class scheduled for Friday down near there. I might ask them to come up here instead!

My trip to Key Largo this weekend is looking pretty shaky thanks to Wilma. I have planned this trip for months and wouldn't you know a *******in hurricane has to come and screw it up. I am getting my weather and predicted tracks from intellicast.com
Are there other sites that will give me more information? I am hoping for the best.

You got to keep in mind that even if diving in Largo would be GREAT, and the Hurricane does this, and the wind does that, and the sea does the other thing, the reality is that DiveOps, and Boat owners are in a scramble to secure their homes, their boats, and their families.

Regardless of how important diving is to a visiting tourist, don't count on the DiveOp being open for business if they are a couple days away from a potentially life threatening storm.

We were in Key West when Andrew hit, and a couple days before it arrived, I spent my planned boat charter time helping locals hang plywood, followed by... ummm ... drinking...

I'd call the DiveOps, and discuss. I know it's a bummer, but IMO time to reschedule. :06:

I was going to go to Cozumel Nov 24th.
I'm thinking about cancelling trip due to Wilma.
I don't think Fiesta Americana will be up to snuf and all Martin's fleet will be operatable.
If anyone goes to Coz please post updates as soon as available.

Perhaps we should exchange trip plans,
We are booked to be in Cozumel on the 17th
I guess thats what I get for booking in Feb for a trip in Nov.

Lets just hope that it stays far enough South as to not screw-up the Megadive at Ginne Springs,or even better staying on a NW course across Mexico.
(They need the rain)
