Also, reboot with your dive computer hooked up, and on. That will also trigger the PC to find it.

that is what i have to do to get vista to find removable hardware
i sould get windows 7 but i keep spending my money on divegear :shocked2:

I encounter this with my Cobra. The cable connection to the Active Contacts on the back of the Cobra itself are a weak spot. I generally have to mess with the cable, shifting it, holding it down, sometimes wetting the contacts before I get the download going

I have the vyper as well. I do all my downloads on a very old computer and it works well. Long story short, when my computer took a dump i tried to use the wife's computer. It did exactly what you are describing. I took it all in to a computer tech i know. He messed around with it for a bit and still couldn't get it to work. It had something to do with the newer versions of windows doesn't like to talk to the suunto download manager. I think windows see's it as a hostel program. My solution was to get my old computer running. I would look in to seeing if Suunto has a help line.

Oh this helps - I was connecting my computer last after everything else was open - Do it the other way round and wierdly it starts to work.
