Practice snorkeling in the lake this winter in your drysuit. I used to go out in the great lakes snorkeling and be the only one out there in the winter. Its good practice. Don't do ice dives until you get more experience and training, there is a lot that is different. A lot of good ice divers around Toronto.

You can have fun with your ice snorkels. The grill is still lit in that picture, I cooked a steak and drank champange on the Detroit River one day. It is closed for boats so its a great time to test your drysuit. I used to go out all the time. You can see some of the patchings, if you look carfully at my left ankle, you will see where I re-glued the boot back on after it came off.
