Ft. Pickens Saturday June 27

The whole island has some sort of beach. The gulf side is a bit nicer for just hanging out and swimming though. You'll get the picture once you drive down Ft. Pickens Road. The jetties are in the bay but it's a nice area to swim as well.

I hope to be there by 1030 or 11. I will be in a pewter Chevy Silverado. Is there beach nearby that people nopt diving can hang out and suntan?

Yes, more beach and sand than you can shake a stick at. Bathroom is a good hiking distance away though....

As an FYI...They've opened the bathrooms at the far west end of the island on the Gulf side, to the West of the "Broken" Fort.

eh, the doghouse cant be so bad to miss out on a day of diving. or...you could always buy a large doghouse haha. i most likely will be out there saturday as well

On Saturday there will not be very much tidal flow at all. Low tide on the 26th starts at 0.0 and then moves up to Saturday the 27th's high tide of 0.9 and then back down to 0.2 at low tide later that day. The good news is there won't be alot of flow to stir things up. The bad news may be that there will not be as much clear water sucked into the pass.
