Hi Friends,

We want to drive across from the Tarpon Springs area to the east coast,
and dive there. Last time we did so with Jupiter Dive Center and they did
a great job conducting drift dives that we truly enjoyed. From our home to
their shop the drive time was 3.5 hours. We can reach Cocoa Beach a full
hour faster! Is there excellent diving there, like we experienced in Jupiter?
How about Ft. Pierce which would save me 1/2 hour of driving? Anywhere
in the middle? Thank you all very much!

I think you may have forgotten to ask the 2nd question and that is what "Scuba Charters" run every day from CC to FtP.
Almost none run everyday in that range and you must pre-arrange a dive boat.

If you want to shore dive,,,,that's a different topic. It depends on wind direction from the previous 3 days, time of year. location, tide times, and what you want to see out of the dive.

There's lots of good diving out of Port Canaveral and Sebastian BUT it is mainly geared to hunting. Vis is very sketchy and typically 15-20' is a good day. If you want to see pretty things with great vis then I would say anywhere from Stuart south will do.

Jupiter Dive Center (pretty stuff) and Florida Scuba Charters (hunting & pretty stuff) are two I can recommend. I know there is some fairly easy shore dive areas in Stuart but haven't done it. Blue Heron Bridge (Phil Foster Park) is another really great dive - easy & shallow but you need to time it for high tide (there's a whole thread here covering it).

Well Stuart is your answer. We run boats from Jupiter and Palm Beach. give us a shout at 772-600-8288 and we will take care of you!
we actually have lots of regulars that come from your side of the state.
