Hey fellow bubble blowers... (too much coffee this morning)

I was planning a trip to the Keys in Mid-January, but heard a lot of bad press about weather and currents being so bad that time of year. I'm not seeing any mention of there here.

Maybe I read through a bit fast too, but are they still recovering down there? Are we welcome to come visit this soon after such a horrible hurricane season?
Ever heard of the "winds of March?" Well this year (04) they extended through mid May. Hopefully it won't be the same next year.

Carol, I organized a trip to Key Largo 5/1 this year. The winds of March made it difficult for people to avoid feeding the fish, but if you have a good supply of triptone, then check out Island Ventures, Capt. Brian Berry, www.islandventure.com

As far as lodging, check out the Neptune's hidaway. It isn't fancy, but it's clean and cozy. My wife and I stayed there when she was doing her last C dives, and loved it. http://neptuneshideaway.com/

Good luck!

In SE Florida, I pay about $60 per person for a two tank boat dive in Pompano Beach... SNIP
At first I thought you were getting ripped off, but then I realized a $40 boat plus $10 for the tanks and a $10 tip gets you there!

I always tell people to book through Lighthouse dive (http://www.lighthousedive.com/)when they need tanks. There's a small discount, and they also know who's going where and with how many. Good folks. They can be reached at (954) 788-0208.

Life is good... come on down!

Thanks for the help. These posts are a great resource. I appreciate you all.
