Hi and welcome to the board and the wonderful addiction of diving. I get the feeling its us new divers who religiously keep our log books. I haven't dived with a computer yet, but i do understand that they allow more bottom time, becasue they can keep a more accurate record of actual bottom time at specifc depths, where the tables assume if you go to 60 feet all the time was spent at 60 feet.

I keep a log book too, I will keep logging my dives until a reach the level of Jedi Knight of diving. :D

LOGS?! We're supposed to keep LOGS?!! :D

Welcome, phoneman! Oh, yeah: I keep an up-to-date log of my dives, particularly when transitioning to new gear. It's handy for when you make configuration changes later, particularly with regards to weight.

Cheers!

Welcome to the SB. I hope you keep up with the log book. It's always nice to look back and have a reference as to how much weight you used, what thickness of wetsuit you used, what the diving conditions were, all kinds of things. Plus if you ever want to go to the next level of diving, it shows your dive experience. Also, if you ever needed to go into a chamber the doctor would have much needed information such as your ending pressure group. Keep up the logs and dive safe!

Hmmmm.....hey phoneman, how far you wanna go with this question? It could even be set up as a poll......
Yep, I can see it needs to be done. What do ya think phoneman? If you'd like to ask all SBers, post the question in another forum. (basic scuba is fine) I'd like to hear what the rest of the board thinks on this one. :)

I just bought the cables and software to load my dives onto a pc. A new toy to fumble with. Anybody want to guess what my next post will be? Thanks for the feed back you all sound like you'd be alot of fun on a dive trip.
