i have made looots of these for my diy cameras.. what you do is, cut of the orginale stainless ones, then weld on the core of a 2.5mm(aprox) welding stick (?, the ones with "cover on").. just smash of the "cover" on it, and they are stiff enough for being used as a control, and still flex enough to be bent over and over again with a gripper, without breaking. and you can bend this with two grippers easy.. and snap them of to right lenght!
AND the smal rubber hoods from ikelite, will fit great on the end of them :wink:
