We're planning to dive Casino Park Saturday. Called Catalina Divers Supply and they reported acceptable conditions. Vis currently down to 15ft. Still planning to go. Swell model shows decent conditions.

CDIP recent forecast

Looks like the crossing should be ok this Saturday. I'm going to be taking 3 divers to Catalina on my boat(31' Tiara) Saturday. We will be focusing on spots around two harbors on the lee side. Wish us luck.
Please let us know how it looks out at Catalina on Saturday. Maybe I'll head out there on Sunday if it's clear enough. It's just a lot more gas in my boat to get there ...then say Laguna. So I only want to go if its going to be worth it.

I'm also looking to buddy up with someone to do some local diving over the next couple of months. Being a newbie I don't know a whole lot of divers. So if anyone else is looking for a dive partner give me a holler.

Will do.

I dove La Jolla Shores last night. Viz was good and no surge. Surf was maybe 2 feet - pretty easy entry.

We are diving around here all the time. This weekend it's going to be either Catalina or Laguna somewhere - you are welcome to join in either case. I do solo during weekdays and sometimes weekends in Redondo (mostly to practice and just being in the water) - if you are interested in just diving around 60-70 feet and mostly practicing some diving skills you are welcome to join. There isn't much to see in Redondo during day anyway.

Redondo is much better for night dives. Wednesday nights there are plenty of people (a lot of classes and some just come to dive). You can always find somebody to buddy up there. We'll go night diving in Laguna maybe next week..

Seas have settled down out here on the island. Hopefully visibility is improving. No plans to dive though until Monday night... particulates ruin my filming.

Conditions at the dive park were reported as 30-40 ft vis in the morning yesterday although I won't be diving it until tomorrow night (due to other time commitments until then).
