I have a 10 year old Aeris first stage and octo I got when certified. They do not have a purge button but the front of the reg flexes in when pushed. After rinsing my regs while pressurized a couple weeks ago when I went to release the air my finger went right through the front of the reg. I replaced that with a new oceanic front. But when I then checked the spare I could see the yellow plastic was starting to disintegrate and discolor. Could not get a new front on short order so I got a new spare.

Point is that if you are using old Aeris regs that they are subject to this deterioration. Have since found out of other folks with a similar issue.
