Sitka diver,
uhh that last fish on the bottom right, what is that, I know its not a dorado, but it sure looks like one.
 
Its a deep water fish called the prowfish there way kool they eat jellyfish..

OK, so if we were interested in doing a self guided trip up to Alaska to catch some of these babies, how would we go about doing it. How deep are you diving, what sort of bottom contour are you looking for, what areas produce good numbers, what time of year again is best. Can you do these as shore dives or are they boat dives? Are they as far south as POW, or is it better closer to Kodiak?
 
If u wana catch crabs u need to go to Juneau ak and hook up w/Dave @ the Scuba Tank.....All winter diving water temp 31degrees outside air 20+ and u will need a big goodie bag.... Bottom looks like a mud pie very soft mud usually in 90-100ft of water allways of a boat cause u gota find them..
