everyone is different. In 79 I would still be wearing my 1mm with my 3mm vest.

I'm going to start with the 3mm shorty and go from there, either to nothing, or adding a 2/3 hooded vest.

Crap. I just bought a 3mm shorty for Coz in January.

Maybe you're less of a wuss than me

Hubby found that he was cold after multiple hours in the water in nearly 80F....but that was after a couple days. A 3/2mm hooded vest or something may suffice if you get cold though.

I have a 3, 5, and 7 mm full suit, a 3 mm vest, a 3/5 mm hooded vest, a 3 and a 7 mm hood. Some permutation/combination suits me well in any water temperature at or above the high 40s.

Good diving, Craig

No problem with layering (though saying 1 mil and 3 mil is warmer than 5 mil ????). I have a 1 mil I sometimes wear under my 6.5 farmer johns and shorty - helps if I decide to do something nuts like dive 60 feet down in 37 degree water with Luckydays.:D The extra layer does help.
