Maui over the Christmas/New Year's holiday

I'm getting some good feedback. Thanks, everyone!

Now we just need to decide where to stay. There are so many options. We're not really "resort" people, so we're leaning toward a B & B or or one of the privately owned homes. A few seem to be friendly to divers, from what we've seen. Any issues or suggestions? We *will* rent a car, btw. Planning on doing the "Drive to Hana," among other things.

We are heading back to Maui again 1st week of Dec. (own a timeshare in Kaanapali) the first trip we bought "Maui Revealed" guidebook, and we bring it on every trip to Maui.
