So am I just unlucky? The first one died after 9 months or so, it's replacement just gave up (maybe 5 years).

Should I be looking to kill a black cat at midnight, of some suitable other spell to break my bad luck?

Are there any reliability stories about the 'new' SWIFT transmitter (and would it even work with a Perdix AI ?) ?

When you say "dead," what do you mean? I'd encourage shorting it out with the battery out of it. Put a paperclip between the bottom of the unit and the end of the wire nearest the cap. I've been able to resuscitate a few that way.

The failure mode was odd. It started off reading about 1800 PSI on a full tank (checked against the SPG) and then the pressure would only change a little (down to maybe 1600 PSI) when the SPG showed 900.

I replaced the battery with a new one, and now nothing. I even erased the transmitter and re-entered the serial #. Thanks for the suggestion, it didn't make any difference.

No, just buy quality products, Scubapro or Ratio for example.

Awesome. Thank you

Just a note. To my knowledge, Huish will only do that for Oceanic branded units. If the serial number starts with BM, it will work. Also, add shipping and tax on top of that price, but still quite a bit cheaper than buying a brand new one.
