RE the TSA people... My good friend is a retired cop with 20+ years and 11 years in the US Army before that. So he is well-trained.

He applied for a TSA position and took their exams. After scoring 100% he was told that he wasn't needed because he was too good.

Go figure.

The family is flying to Florida this week. Usually we do not take any gear (it all sits in my daughter's home in Boca Raton) but this trip my 15 year-old is bringing her new BC. I'll let you know what happens.

They need to sell one dose toothpastes, etc. Flying across the world without toothpaste will suck.
Maybe the the Oral-B Brush-Up thingies? Like wetnaps for your teeth (but I don't think they're wet) I got a couple of those as a sample and haven't tried them yet.

They were passing those out at my gym one day. They are better than gum, but not as good as a tooth brush.

trucker girl:
What's a Camelbak?

It's the brand name of the rehydration systems that are designed to fit in the pocket of most new backpacks. They also come with their own little backback.
You can check them out at REI. I think I own 4 or 5 of them in different configurations. They are great. I don't take them on flights though--the water would get too warm for my tastes.

wow, thanks for the list. I feel a little better.

trucker girl, I just hate when they dump all that stuff out in front of everyone. I guess if Rush lived through the Viagra tragedy, I will survive. I just hope those airlines have bottled water on board, and yes, the FA's might need to fetch it.

yes, I have those, for kids who sleep over, good idea.

Did you realize that there are 2000 applicants per day to TSA?

Oh! That's a way to nowhere. Next time they invent paper or cotton explosives (dynamite is kind of). What then? FBI check to get a fly permit?

yay....we can have our lipstick back now.

I'm flying on Wednesday...I don't usually carry lipstick, and don't plan on bringing any this time but I'll post a report of how it was in general when I get in.

I'm flying this afternoon. I'll post a report too. Thank god I can take my lipstick though...:D
