Hey folks, I was recently certified in May, and on Monday I'm starting my advanced class, with a dive at Redondo Canyon. I've also been on a boat dive to Catalina, dove at the casino, and a beach dive at Corona Del Mar. I live in Upland, and I'm really looking forward to getting in a lot of dives ASAP, as soon as I can find some buddies. Even bought all the equipment. I think we'll be diving at Woods Cove next weekend as part of the advanced class.

Anyway, if anyone is looking for a VERY concientious though inexperienced buddy to dive the casino or Laguna or whatever, let me know. I'm really looking forward to diving El Matador beach up north, past Point Dume, one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. I think the sandeaters are going there in mid-August.

I'm a bit hestitant to just show up at some of these dives and hope someone will buddy up with me, but maybe that's what I have to do.
here are 2 of us that go over to the west end of catalina atleast every other weekend. we are always looking for 1-2 additional people to assist with the gas.......the positive is , smaller boat=great access to some awesome spots. I am looking for an area in So. Cal that has some decent hunting or rock structure...someone mentioned Malaga cove??....anyone know where that is?

Your thread is kind of old but I'll give this a shot:)
i live in upland as well and if your still looking for someone to dive with
I would be more than excited to go.

I am from the Ventura area and am l looking to come down that way to dive. If you ever get up this way I would be more that happy to facilitate dives and show you the area. I do a lot of beach dives because its cheaper.

Morro Bay is supposed to have some good hunting, and rock structure. Kind of far north, but. . . .
