I've never heard of any spearing in the Red Sea.
You grew up there, right? So did you dive and hunt there? Or where else? What was it like? I've only seen the books of photography and a little video tape.

Check the regs first. Most states do not allow game fish to be speared. they even recognize catfish as game fish. Florida does not allow freshwater hunting. In fact if you are caught with a spear in fresh water you and your gear will go directly to jail

CA dive news sometimes has some interesting dive sites and hunting articles, here is a basic article from the archives on spearpoints, explaining the differences.

Amphibious, thanks for being cool about all that, glad everyone is smiling

... Used a JBL tavel pole spear for years, and as soon as I can find another one I'll be packing that too. ...
Hey, I may be able to fix you up with one of those critters.
What model are ya interested in?

Last year I supplied a tuna farm on the Med with JBLs & powerheads; the Travel Magnum with a BECO .444 Marlin head stoned a PAIR of 750lb Bluefin with 1 shot. :D

.444 marlin eh? I shoot a .450 Marlin as my primary meat provider, good calibers :D

I'm looking for the 3section 6" pole spear, but I'm trying to get it on trade:
