... I believe it was Andrew Georgitsis who couldn't get a nitrox fill once because they wouldn't recognize his GUE Instructor's card. Never mind that GUE is the organization that coined the phrase "air is for tires" ...

I think nobody recognizes his GUE instructor card anyways :)

I had a shop refuse to fill my 2 tanks with air because the tanks didn't have an eddy current test sticker. This shop includes this test yearly with the visual inspection. My shop includes the test with the hydro testing. I think the eddy current test is optional with yearly vis's but for this shop it was a rule.

I recently had to go to a class to renew my tank inspector certification, and one of my classmates who was also renewing thought that once a tank had a VE notation on it, it had to have a VE every time it was inspected. That was the shop's policy because they thought it was a rule they had to follow. I think it was due to some confusing language somewhere or other. He was greatly relieved to find out is was not required.

Yes, but this was before the Great Schism ... :shocked2:

Nah that was MHK at the Casino Point fill station -- unless it has happened twice. If that happened to Andrew it would not have slowed him down much. Just a few more minutes of deco.

I count my dives in imperial units.
