Got to ask, title of the thread caught my eye so had a look. I don't read this part of the board and i don't live in the US so i have no idea.
In areas where i have lived (Pacific Islands) it is illegal to spearfish on scuba and i know this is true in a lot of other countries as well.
So, is it legal to spearfish on scuba in the US?
THis is not an antagonistic question, just a simple question looking for a simple yes or no...but am assuming it is a yes as obviously its fairly open. Just sort of surprises me if it is.
 
It is 100% legal to spearfish on scuba in the US. There are certain areas that are protected from ANY fishing, but in most of the US you can shoot fish on scuba.

I believe that Michael meant to say that jewfish/goliath grouper are ILLEGAL to take, but Warsaw grouper are legal.
