OK I posted this on the Sherwood board and have not received any replies yet. Maybe I'll have better luck here.

I have an original Source Computer with a date of 1990 on it. It has never had the battery replaced. Do I need to send it in to replace the battery or can I do it myself?
If sent in what else beside replacing the battery is done to the unit?

Compare your computer to the one on page 44 of this document:

The earliest versions of this computer did not allow the user to change the batteries while later versions did. I'm also 99% sure this computer is a re-branded Oceanic/Pelagic.
