Might as well learn to drive on a stick shift.......because then driving an automatic will be a breeze.
 
The only downside to me was that we spent significant time above water so I soaked my undergarment in sweat.

FWIW I did my OW certification dives in a dry suit. As such, no time like the present to learn.
