+1 on the CO2 buildup/retention. I have had that feeling before and it is unnerving. Good job getting through it.

Thanks for staying calm and in control during that first dive. So many instructors have had to "take the ride" as a student freaks at depth and bolts for the surface. Last time I had to do it was with a student who was loaded up with CO2.
