This is what I do as well. Since I only have one regulator set, it has an octo, since I don't ALWAYS sling a pony.
When I sling my pony, it doesn't make sense to remove my octo. Doesn't really get in the way and it works too.
Pony bottle; replacement for, or in addition to octo?
