Based on my experiences in the South Pacific, French Polynesia is NOT the place to go if you don't want her to see sharks! There were so many on our dives that I had trouble counting them.

However, I don't remember seeing any in Fiji although I haven't checked my trip diary to verify that. I know others see them there.

Of course you could always honeymoon here on the Island of Romance (Catalina)... long liners and gill netters killed off most of the sharks in my waters. We have to go out chumming for them to get any in close.
