Snorkel w/ the Manatees, scuba Rainbow River 1/13/2008

I did the rainbow river a few weeks ago. You really do'nt need scuba. Snorkeling is fine.

Ed, just so we're clear, this is two separate trips on the same day with the same operator. We will snorkel with the manatees in the morning and scuba dive the river in the afternoon.

That will be a fun trip. Rainbow river is shallow so you do'nt have to bring scuba if you do'nt feel like it.

The last time I did Rainbow River my wife and son snorkeled and I took a tank, they kept pulling my fins. It is shallow 7-10ft and 21 ft in the holes. It is fun either way.

Scuba at Crystal River is good if you go to Kings Spring. Most people think of it as an open water certification dive, but the cavern is beautiful.

Anyway , my plan is just to do Rainbow River if a spot opens up.

Yeso Jeano,
you are 24th to sign-up but I have to give preference to those that want to do both the snorkel trip and the scuba river trip. There used to be a post that said that and I can only guess it got eaten in the Super Colossal SB Crash of 2007.

Come on Jean, get up early and do the manatee thingy also, I think I have a spare O2 cleaned snorkel you can borrow, I would assume you to be on Nitrox for the snorkeling

I use normoxic nitrox for snorkeling myself to reduce the nitrogen loading
