Chaps,

What is there difference between a $60 backplate and a $300 backplate? Surely both are just a drilled and formed sheet of Aluminium or steel?

I am thinking of buying an aluminium one online and I just can't for the life of me understand what the price difference could refer to...

Thx!

Without knowing exactly what you are purchasing comment may not be possible except that I have a very inexpensive Hammerhead plate and it is very NICE. Aluminum is a preferred material for many warm water divers. Sharp edges etc can be addressed easily enough even with steel. If your wing fits the plate, buy it.
