HA! Yes, I hadn't even thought about bug spray yet.
There's also Malaria precautions to consider. Afaik there's still Malaria on Roatan. Get a Hep A shot if you're not current also. Someone mentioned here that after going to Roatan you can't give blood for a certain interval either. Health Information for Travelers to Honduras - Traveler view | Travelers' Health | CDC

We had decent luck with Deep Woods Off. Don't forget it at night, the little buggers hide under the tablecloths.

As mentioned above, only carry $20 bills or less except maybe for room & dive shops, they'll take larger bills. Make sure they are not torn or badly wrinkled. For some reason unknown, some will reject these. Carrying lemp bills are a pain, as a lemp = nickel, so it usually takes a lot. Yep, lots of Deet too. I'll be right behind you in June/July. Also, renting a vehicle is great to cruise around the island, lots to see, etc., but beware that YOU are liable for it. The sight from "top of the mountain" is incredible since you're able to see the sea on both sides of the island. They'll sell you insurance but it's fairly useless there. If you rent a jeep, etc., take the doors off at night, sounds weird, but we had one stolen and had to pay for it! The roads are mountainous and narrow with lots of potholes; we heard of people ruining tires and here again were liable. Last but not least, don't drive at night!
