"68F year round in the panhandle springs" I heard they were 72 year round.
You heard the temp for the Lake City area springs. Panhandle springs run 65 - 68, depending on the spring. Vortex is 68.

I go with a 3/2 in the summer and add a hooded vest in the winter as do many others.

Always remember...the begining of the dive may feel good...but 30 minutes into it, you don't want to get the shiver twitches! It's hard to warm up after that...unless you use your self warming technique underwater .

I noticed that in a few areas of the basin, but in the cavern and cave I never saw anything but 68F :)

I was too narced to look at the temp in the cave. I bet the temp was brought down by all the rain and runoff etc.

No doubt, sure was nasty on the surface! :D

I dove it on the 14th in a 3/4 wetsuit without a hood and I was fine and to tell the truth I have a pretty low cold tolerance.

Hope that helps.
