....in NJ we dive with everything but the kitchen sink).....

Hmmmm sounds like the Christmas Tree effect.

shark_tamer - Do you really need to attach more stuff to you for the dive or is it for show or mental reassurance?

JBRES1:
I have added 2 D rings on my BC tank straps, one on each side of the tank.
Its a nice place to put an extra light or a spool.

Yep, I'm a fan of using D rings and tri-glides.
I added some to my wifes Zena because it was lacking
useful Drings on the shoulder straps.

For those that havent seen this done,
I attached pictures of the plastic D Rings I added to her Zena
and a picture of a welded bent D Ring that can be attached
to a 2 inch webbing including a tank band.

For those who are asking why I need these biners and what do I hook on them.

1) One biner is my uw camera.
2) Another for my surface signal reel.
3) Third is for my reg and octo mouth piece cover. Both reg and octo have a mouth piece cover that I use during surface intervals so that debris does not get into regs, specially when walking on the beach ... would not want sand into my regs !!
4) During surface intervals, when I remove my gloves, I attach them on a biner.
5) Same for dive computer.
6) Even used one once as a " flag" to distinguish which line between 3 to use to backtrack.

Basicaly, most of the biners are used to hook equipement to my BC ... Pick up the BC and everything is attached to it and nothing ( specially the reg with 7' hose ) is dragging on the ground.

While diving, most of the biners have nothing attached to them.
