I dove with a very professional and extremely well trained and experienced dive boat. The Scuba-Do out of Key Largo is a highly recommended boat not only by myself but many other divers. Anyway, we headed to the Speigel where we hooked up to a mooring ball and the captain came down and told us he hates to do it but he recommended we not dive the Spiegel due to V. Strong Current. Three non-commercial boats were already on and we could see some commercial on their way. We agreed and decided to try the Duane.

Upon arriving at the Duane we found a boat in distress and assisted them. See the details here,

Again the current on this wreck was V. Strong however we were the only boat preping to dive so we opted to do a controlled drift dive. We put in at the bow and rode the current to stern. It was an awesome dive! The current was ripping, probably the strongest ive ever dove. If we wouldnt have held on, we probably would have finished the dive in about 45-60 seconds. However, we took our time and were cautious. We hit a max depth of 105ft with a dive time of 25min. The vis was amazing, probably in area of 100ft. Tons of barracuda, grouper, grunts and others. A big, maybe 3ft loggerhead turtle that let us get close. My buddy had his $$$$ camera with and took a ton of pics. The current was fun to ride and a relief to get free of. Going up the last line to the last mooring bouy we had to hold on tight. The current would carry us up too fast if we held on loosely or even tear us off the line. It was a blast! Despite my encounter with sea lice nailing my face.

Second dive was to french reef out ledge. Still cool but not as exciting as the first dive. Max depth 49 ft, vis 50ft light current on this one. Dive time 40 minutes.
