I asked a similar question last week. Check out this thread for the responses.

that question that has been bugging Sea Squirt for years has been answered...

Sea Squirt,TM, Keralucu (welcome back!!),

I read the "novelization" of the movie The Abyss, and it had a bit more about the ending's lack of Deco. It seems the NTI's (I think that was their "name") somehow instantly "unsaturated" all the people in the rig.
Now that would be a nice real life technique.
Take care,
Mike

Brothers & Sisters of Diving,

Internet Movie Data Base, (IMDB.com) search for "Underwater".

Assignment: Underwater
Sea Hunt
The Aquanauts
Malibu Run

Navy SEALs
The Frogmen
The Siver Strand
The Ultimate Game

Jacques Y. Cousteau

...And many, many more.

Don't sell "The Scuba Movie" short.
Remember "Endless Summer" about surfing around the world?
Depending on the 'spin' you want to add to the title, you could try:
Perpetual Lotion
Uncle Wrinkly
Outta the Depths
The World's Longest Big Blub Boogie
California...Buggin'!

Regards,
Lance Gothic
Shibumi

and yes, they were called NTI's although I can't for the life of me remember what that stands for right now. I'm sure Sea Squirt can tell us.

I most certainly can! It stands for Non Terrestrial Intelligence. And if you remember, the NTIs, originally UFOs (Underwater Flying Objects) also had their own ROVs.....the "Russian Water Tentacle"!!!!!!!

Sheeesh! Seen that movie way too many times.:maniac:

Is the symptoms of HPNS true or were they Hollywoodized?

"The Deep" showed on UK tv last night- pretty funny, 1970s ex-porn stars diving with their shirts and trousers on just about describes it; quite a good one to show open water students and get them to spot the unsafe diving practises... :)

What about any good TV Documentaries about diving? When I was little I always used to love to watch the underwater ones.

It figures. Look at me now!

Peace out, to my diving homies--
