Why not tropical dry?

So, technically speaking - what is the difference between a tropical dry suit and a regular one? From what people have written above I've gotten two things: they are more breathable (but if they do in fact keep you dry then what difference does that make) and they might not have foot pockets.

Is that it?

When I asked the same question I was told the same things others have already said (ankle seals, sometimes a breathable material, etc..) and also told that they are a closer fit because they are not designed for heavy undergarments. Though the whites tropical looks quite baggy compared to a lot of shell suits.
