Why was your first post here?

As a former scuba diver I just wanted to see what was going on in the diving world. Hope to pick it up again someday. Presently living in Germany, but did my diving while stationed in Okinawa. Remember divers do it deeper.

I am posting here first because the "divemaster" of this board suggested it. I got my first C-card at Diver's Training Academy
in Florida in 1965 (age 13). Got my NAUI in 1966 as member of Aqua Addicts dive club.(age 14).Taking "refresher" course.
Have seen so many older divers (than myself) that I decided to take the plunge again.

just joined two days ago, while researching a trip. was thrilled to discover this community. posting first in "Intros and Greets" just seemed to be the friendly thing to do. So far, everyone has been really cool. great forum.

I know many of our new memebrs go right to a subforum and post a question never to be heard from again, while those members who start off here tend to be more tied to the community, this of course begs the question -- why did you post here?! So if you first posted in this forum please let us know, what factors caused you to start out here instead of somewhere else?
