That's why I have a ~9 button mouse. Works great with OSX...

Vista is just new... everyone's hardware and software is likely just old... so they're going to have problems with that + the learning curve.

XP is great, too... no reason to switch if you're happy. I like the new graphical user interface on Vista, myself.

LOL... here's another perspective on the PC vs. MAC (pretty funny... Linux and BSD even have cameos):

Does anyone know if the new Intel-based Macs can run Windows apps without installing a dual boot Windows OS (in other words do they have a built-in Windows emulator?).

Yes, I know... it's heresy. I've been a DOS/Windows user since 1984 (gulp, I just realized that) when I moved from my CP/M transportable (Kaypro 2) and laptop (Epson Geneva) to a Compaq desktop. I've railed against Macs for years (and have experience with them... freezing up just like the PC's do). However, I think they've made all the right moves to address most of my previous concerns and I'm actually thinking of migrating to one for video editing (while keeping my dozen or so PC's).

check out parallels for mac.
I think you have to have a licensed copy of whatever windows OS you want to run.

X86 macs only though

but honestly, what kind of person buys a mac to run windows :)
Once you go Mac, you never go back!

DiverBry:

Hah, the hard--drive is the least of if from my point of view.

Despite the "been dead for 15 years" moniker, having X86 CPU's on mac is a real win all around (of course, mine are all the PPC versions :( )

If only the Linux GUI guys would stop arguing and just clone OS/X, I would be right there.

Sadly, Linux is just not there these days and I use windows and any of its applications only under extreme duress
