Wrinkles September '06 Dive Planning Thread - La Jolla

I'll update this first post as a running synopsis of this thread.

When: Saturday, September 9th
Where: La Jolla Shores, San Diego County


What is the Wrinkles Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers and non-divers in SoCal who can make it. It's a lot of fun involving diving, eating, socializing and last month even camping!

It all started when our SoCal member, Wrinkles, mentioned to a group that she dove with that it would be really fun to be able to get together at least once a month. Pasley, took off with the idea and announced the first "Wrinkles Dive". The rest is history!

It's open to everyone of all skill levels from "I'm not certified yet" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

We've found this to be a great way to meet our fellow divers locally and many new dive buddies have been found though these "dive soirees".

OE Express Scuba and Kayak Center
(OE Express only has air. In the past, they've often had problems with their fill equipment and have been unable to fill over 3000 psi. We keep going there because they are within walking distance of La Jolla Shores. If you don't mind the drive, SDUA may be a better choice.)

Wrinkles dives will take place every 2nd Saturday of the month and we will occasionally have both a Saturday and Sunday included for an entire weekend of fun.

Right you are Bill! I missed one of the dates (the main one, of course) when I copied the post from last year's September Wrinkles Dive at La Jolla Shores when it really was the 10th on Saturday.

Had me concerned... thought I was looking at the wrong year's calendar all this time!

Anyone thinking of doing the SD UW Film Festival that afternoon or evening?

I may be down there for the dives, but won't know for a while.

I'm planning to go and take Christian up on his offer to teach me to shore dive (from the lunch at the Long Beach Scuba Show ). My wife may come along but I haven't been able to convince her to do shore diving so she'll likely be a spectator.

I'd like to bring something, condiments for example, but I don't know how much to bring. Any suggestions?
